Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Sam’s Club Tips (samsclubtips.com) collects when you visit, and how we use it. The short version: we collect very little, we do not sell any of it, and you can read every guide here without giving us anything at all.

Information you give us

Comments. When you comment on an article we store the name, email address and comment text you submit, along with your IP address and browser details to help us detect spam. Your name and comment are shown publicly. Your email address is not. A hashed version of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there.

Contact form. When you write to us we receive your name, email address and message. We keep them only as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

Our web server and caching layer record standard technical data for every request, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. We use these logs to keep the site running, find errors and block abuse. They are kept for a limited time and are not combined with anything that identifies you.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work. WordPress sets a cookie to remember your name and email after you leave a comment so you do not have to type them again, and our cache sets a session cookie so pages load quickly. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If we add an analytics tool in the future, we will update this policy before it goes live.

Embedded content

Articles may embed content from other sites, such as YouTube videos. Those embeds behave as if you had visited the other site directly, and that site may collect data, set its own cookies or track your interaction with the embed.

How long we keep data

Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized. Contact messages are deleted within twelve months of our last reply. Server logs are rotated automatically.

Your rights

If you have commented or written to us, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by using the contact page. We will respond within thirty days. This does not apply to data we must keep for security or legal reasons.

Children

This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date above.
