Editorial Policy

Sam’s Club Tips exists to answer one Sam’s Club question at a time, accurately and in plain English. This page explains who writes the guides, where the facts come from and what happens when something changes.

Who writes the guides

Every guide is written and edited by Ethan Brooks, whose name appears on each article. Opinions in a guide, such as whether Plus is worth it for a given household, are his judgment and are written as such.

Where the facts come from

  • Sam’s Club’s own pages come first: SamsClub.com, the Sam’s Club help center and individual club pages.
  • Reputable news and consumer coverage fills gaps, and it is named in the article when we rely on it.
  • If a price, hour or rule can’t be confirmed, it stays out of the guide until it can be.

Prices and hours vary by club

Sam’s Club prices and department hours differ from club to club. When a guide quotes a price, it says which club the figure came from, and it tells you how to check your own.

Keeping guides current

Each guide shows the date it was last updated. Deals and Instant Savings guides are reviewed every month, holiday hours are rechecked about two weeks before each holiday, and membership guides are updated whenever Sam’s Club changes a fee or a perk.

Corrections

If you spot a price, hour or rule that is out of date, tell us through the contact page. We check it against Sam’s Club’s own information, fix the guide and update its date.

Independence

Sam’s Club Tips is not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by Sam’s Club or Walmart Inc. We don’t accept sponsorships, don’t publish paid placements and don’t use affiliate links. We never claim a store visit, purchase or conversation that didn’t happen. When a guide describes member experiences, it says where they came from.
