Sam’s Club Bakery Prices for Cakes, Pies and Pastries

Frosted sheet cake, cupcakes with sprinkles, croissants and a pumpkin pie, with the headline The Best Buys at the Bakery

The Sam’s Club bakery sells custom cakes from $23.84 for a half sheet that serves 36 to 48 people.

Pies start at $5.98, and most Member’s Mark croissant, muffin and cookie packs cost under $8.

These prices come from one Dallas club and shift a little by location. The patterns are what matter. The biggest cake is the best value, and one pastry pack isn’t worth buying.

Sheet cakes and cupcakes

Sam’s Club custom sheet cakes come in two sizes. The custom half sheet cake costs $23.84 and serves 36 to 48 people, and the full sheet costs $42.94 and serves 72 to 96.

You choose the base flavor, frosting colors, decorations and message online. Custom cupcakes come 30 to a pack for $16.67, decorated the same way.

The half sheet carries a 4.5-star rating from more than 4,000 members, and its listing is marked SNAP EBT eligible, so it can go on an EBT card.

Chart of cost per serving, with a full sheet cake at 45 to 60 cents, a half sheet at 50 to 66 cents and 30 custom cupcakes at 56 cents each

The per-person math favors the bigger cake. By my count, a full sheet works out to 45 to 60 cents a serving, a half sheet to 50 to 66 cents, and cupcakes to about 56 cents each.

One full sheet also costs $4.74 less than two half sheets, which serve the same 72 to 96 people. Order two halves only when you need two flavors or two designs.

How much cake for your guest count

Sam’s Club gives each cake a serving range rather than a fixed count, so size from the low end if your crowd takes big pieces. This is the cheapest combination I could build for each crowd from the Dallas prices.

GuestsWhat to orderCost
Up to 3030 custom cupcakes$16.67
36 to 48Half sheet cake$23.84
Up to 78Half sheet plus 30 cupcakes$40.51
72 to 96Full sheet cake$42.94
Up to 144Full sheet plus half sheet$66.78

Between about 50 and 75 guests, the half sheet and cupcake combination costs $2.43 less than a full sheet and gives kids a grab-and-go option. Past 78 guests, the full sheet wins on both price and servings.

Round and tiered cakes

For smaller groups, Sam’s Club offers a custom 10-inch round double layer cake for $17.47. Custom two-tier cakes cost $57.98 in designs such as Succulents, Enchanted Unicorn and Inspiration.

Character cakes don’t cost extra. Half sheets with Hello Kitty, Pokemon or Lilo and Stitch designs list at $23.84, the same as a plain custom half sheet, and character cookie cakes cost $19.98.

The ready-made cakes need no order at all. The custom cakes and cupcakes section also lists a 32-ounce tiramisu cake for $14.98, a 46-ounce fruit-topped Chantilly cream bar cake for $17.98, an 86-ounce tres leches style cake for $19.84 and a 10-inch celebration cake for $23.84.

Cake pops fill the gap for a smaller treat, with 14 birthday cake and cookies-and-cream pops for $18.98.

The $5.98 pumpkin pie

The best bakery bargain in the fall is the Member’s Mark 12-inch pumpkin pie, 58 ounces for $5.98. That’s about 10 cents an ounce, less than half what the pecan, key lime and cherry pies cost per ounce.

Bar chart of Sam's Club pie prices per ounce, with pumpkin at 10 cents, apple lattice at 15 cents, pecan at 23 cents, key lime at 24 cents and cherry lattice at 25 cents

The Honeycrisp apple lattice pie comes second. At 72 ounces for $10.98, it’s the heaviest pie in the lineup and works out to about 15 cents an ounce.

The rest cost more per bite. The 12-inch pecan pie is $12.98, the 10-inch key lime pie $9.98 and the 10-inch cherry lattice pie $9.96, and a six-pack of 4-inch assorted mini pies costs $10.74.

Pumpkin is listed as a seasonal pie, so don’t count on that price once the holidays are over.

Croissants and other pastries

Member’s Mark all-butter sandwich croissants cost $5.96 for 12 at their regular price, and chocolate croissants cost $5.54 for 12.

The 20-count cocktail croissants, sized for sliders and party trays, also cost $5.96. By my math that makes them about 30 cents a piece, against 50 cents for the sandwich size.

Muffins come six to a pack for $6.82 in flavors including blueberry, double chocolate, banana nut and cinnamon crunch. An eight-pack of apple turnovers costs $5.98, and iced cinnamon rolls cost $9.62 for eight.

Cookies and party trays

Member’s Mark chocolate chunk cookies cost $7.48 for 18, and members rate them 4.76 out of 5 across more than 16,600 reviews, one of the strongest scores in the bakery. A 36-count pack of mini candy cookies costs $7.78, and eight marranitos cost $5.66.

The party trays feed a crowd without a custom order. An 84-count assorted cookie tray costs $19.93 and holds a 4.69-star rating from more than 8,200 reviews, while a 24-count gourmet brownie tray and a 40-count breakfast pastry platter each cost $20.93.

For the main course, the Cafe’s whole pizzas cost $8.98 each and can be picked up the same day.

Everyday bread

The bread shelf is where the bakery is cheapest. Member’s Mark sliced bagels cost $3.82 for six, yeast dinner rolls $3.98 for 24 and a two-pack of French baguettes $4.46. The bagels come in plain, everything and blueberry.

For sandwiches and cookouts, there are eight artisan ciabatta rolls for $4.54, 24 brioche slider buns for $6.98 and 18 Central American-style bolillo rolls for $7.36, all in Sam’s Club’s bread and bakery section.

Ordering a custom cake

Sam’s Club custom cakes are ordered online and picked up at the bakery inside your club. Orders placed by 2 p.m. can be ready the next day, and you can order up to 30 days ahead.

  1. Select your club on SamsClub.com or in the app, since price and pickup depend on it.
  2. Pick the cake, then set the flavor, frosting colors, decorations and message.
  3. Choose a pickup date, as soon as the next day for orders placed by 2 p.m.
  4. Collect the cake at the bakery inside the club.

Custom cakes are pickup only. Their listings show shipping and delivery as not available, so plan a trip to the bakery counter.

Everyday bakery items work differently. Cookies, muffins, croissants and trays can go into a Curbside Pickup or delivery order like any grocery, within your club’s pickup and delivery hours, and same-day delivery needs the order in by 1 p.m. local time.

Seasonal items come and go

Sam’s Club rotates limited bakery items through the year, and the most talked-about ones don’t stay long.

Daily Meal headline reading The 5 Best Sam's Club Bakery Items Of 2026 (So Far), by Amy David, June 8, 2026
Daily Meal

Daily Meal’s June 2026 roundup tracked Dubai-style chocolate cupcakes at about $12 for eight, first sold around Christmas 2025 and back again in the spring. It also listed a brownie batter cake for under $20 that serves 12 to 16, and hand-decorated floral gourmet cupcakes at about $10 for eight.

The same roundup warned that some newer items sell out in clubs, so check your club’s listing before you make the trip. In the fall, the seasonal item most worth watching for is the 58-ounce pumpkin pie.

What each club’s bakery offers

Sam’s Club’s bakery page for its Duluth, Georgia club lists four services. They are custom cakes ordered online, tiered wedding cakes prepared fresh in the club, premade cakes and cupcakes, and fresh-baked desserts, pastries and breads.

Character cakes are a big part of the custom lineup, with designs on that page for Minecraft, Bluey, Spider-Man, Super Mario and PAW Patrol, among others.

Skip the Danish, buy the turnovers

The one pack I’d leave on the shelf is the four-count Danish.

At $5.98 they cost $1.50 a pastry, and members rate the variety pack 3.72 and the cream cheese pack 3.88, well below the 4.76 for the chocolate chunk cookies. The eight-pack of apple turnovers costs the same and gives you twice as many.

For a party, I’d order the full sheet cake. It’s the cheapest way to feed 72 people or more, and it costs less than two half sheets.

For everyday value, the chocolate chunk cookies win on member ratings and the fall pumpkin pie on price. Daily Meal’s roundup also singled out the 40-count breakfast pastry platter and the mini assorted pies.
