Sam’s Club Cakes and What Every Size Costs

Sam’s Club cakes cost $17.47 for a custom 10-inch round, $23.84 for a half sheet and $42.94 for a full sheet, with two-tier cakes at $57.98.
Those are the prices at a Dallas club, and the design you pick doesn’t change them. Custom cakes need a day’s notice and are pickup only, while the ready-made cakes can go home the same day.
Cake sizes, servings and prices
| Cake | Serves | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 10-inch double layer round | 16 | $17.47 |
| Half sheet | 48 | $23.84 |
| Full sheet | 96 | $42.94 |
| Two-tier | 58 | $57.98 |
| Half sheet cookie cake | 48 | $19.98 |
| Cupcakes, 30 count | 30 | $16.67 |
The servings come from Sam’s Club’s 2026 cake book, the printed design book its bakeries use. The product pages give ranges instead, such as 12 to 16 for the round and 36 to 48 for a half sheet, and the book uses the top of each range.

By my math, the full sheet costs about 45 cents a serving and the 10-inch round more than twice that, at $1.09. The cookie cake is the cheapest per serving at about 42 cents.
Size up rather than doubling up. One full sheet costs $42.94, while two half sheets for the same 96 servings come to $47.68.
The design doesn’t change the price
Every design in a size costs the same. In Sam’s Club’s custom cakes and cupcakes listings, each full sheet design is $42.94, from Blooming Flowers to Enchanted Unicorn, and each two-tier design is $57.98.
Licensed characters don’t cost extra either. The Bluey, Pokemon, Hello Kitty, Minecraft, Sonic and Spider-Man half sheet cookie cakes are all $19.98, the same as the party balloon designs.

Some character cakes in the cake book come with toys on top, such as Bluey and Bingo figurines that dance or a Barbie DreamHouse that opens. The book also warns that gum paste decorations aren’t edible.
Birthday cake designs in the cake book
The 2026 cake book splits its birthday designs into a few families. Many come in several sizes, from the 10-inch round up to the two-tier.
- Floral and classic designs include Roses, Blooming Flowers, Sugar Soft Roses in red, Graceful Radiance, Gold and Silver Inspiration, and two Succulents styles.
- Party designs include Balloons, Sweet Celebration, Patriotic and Enchanted Unicorn.
- Kids’ themes include Shark Attack, Mermaid, Safari Animals with bath-toy animals, and Bear Blocks with monthly milestone markers.
- Sports cakes cover baseball, basketball, football and soccer.
- Character kits include Baby Shark, Barbie, Bluey, Disney Princess, Frozen 2, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
Several designs in the book carry a reminder that custom cupcakes can be added to the same order, a handy way to stretch one cake for a bigger party.
Flavors, icing and decorations
The online cake builder walks through each choice. For a custom 10-inch round, it offers white or chocolate cake, a decoration of roses, balloons or none, and then the icing.

- Marble cake is only available on sheet cakes, according to the cake book.
- Icing comes as buttercreme, in white or chocolate, or as whipped icing.
- A plain cake adds steps for the top and bottom border colors, and every cake ends with an optional message.
- Custom cupcakes come in white, chocolate or half and half, with toppings such as sprinkles, glitter or sugar.
Cupcakes get the widest color choice. The cake book lists 18 icing colors for them, from white and chocolate to teal, royal blue, coral, vibrant pink, black and grey.
How to order and pick up
Pick a design online and tap Customize to start the builder. The 10-inch round listing spells out the timing: next-day pickup if you order by 2 p.m., and orders up to 30 days ahead.
Custom cakes are picked up in the Bakery, with no shipping or delivery. A monogram cake topper takes longer, 5 to 7 days, so add it early.
Holidays tighten the timing. A cake for Christmas Eve has to be ordered by 2 p.m. on December 23, and clubs are closed on Christmas Day.
Custom cakes are tagged SNAP EBT eligible, and the listings say they can be returned or replaced anytime under Sam’s Club’s satisfaction guarantee.
Check allergies before you order. Every page of the cake book warns that clubs may use peanuts, eggs, soy, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, fish, shellfish and sesame, and that any product may have come in contact with them even if they aren’t on the label.
Ready-made cakes skip the wait
Forgot to order? The bakery case has cakes that need no notice, and unlike custom cakes, they can be delivered.

The 30-count cupcakes cost $16.67 for 15 white and 15 chocolate, with delivery in as little as an hour. They hold a 4.7-star average from more than 5,100 ratings.
The ready-made 10-inch Celebration Cake costs $23.84, a 10-inch tres leches style cake $19.84, a tiramisu cake $14.98 and a fruit-topped Chantilly cream bar cake $17.98.
Ordering ahead can still save money. A custom 10-inch round is $17.47, about $6 less than the ready-made 10-inch Celebration Cake.
The best buy and the one to skip
For any group over about 20 people, I’d skip the 10-inch round and order a half sheet. It serves three times as many for $6.37 more, by my math.
The two-tier is the splurge. At about $1 a serving it looks the part for a wedding shower or milestone birthday, but a full sheet feeds more people for $15 less.
For pies, cookie trays and party platters, theSam’s Club bakery guide has the rest of the prices, and the Cafe’s $8.98 pizzas cover the main course.
