Sam’s Club Membership Deals and How to Join for Less

The best Sam’s Club membership deals go to groups that verify through ID.me. Through October 19, 2026, seniors, teachers, students, first responders, the military and people in assistance programs can join Club for $20, against the regular $60.
Everyone else pays full price right now, $60 for Club or $120 for Plus. Sam’s Club’s biggest public offer last year ran in the weeks before Black Friday.
Membership deals running now
| Offer | Price or perk | Ends |
|---|---|---|
| Club membership for six verified groups | $20 after savings | Oct 19, 2026 |
| Military renewal bonus | $10 Sam’s Cash | Jan 31, 2027 |
| Referral link from a member | Set in each email | Varies |
The $20 offers end at 11:59 p.m. Central on October 19. Each group has its own ID.me page, and every one I checked showed the same price and end date.

Read the teacher page closely. Its headline says “$20 off,” but the line under it says “$20 after savings,” so check the total at checkout. The fine print also warns that some states charge sales tax on the price before the discount.
Who qualifies for the $20 Club offer
Sam’s Club’s membership offers page links each group to its own verification.

- The military offer covers active duty, retirees and veterans, civilian military employees and military spouses.
- The teacher offer covers classroom teachers, principals and assistant principals, school employees and college professors.
- The student offer is for college and technical school students 18 and older, but not high school students or ROTC members.
- The first responder offer covers firefighters, police and other law enforcement officers, federal agents, paramedics and EMTs.
- The senior offer starts at 60.
- The assistance offer covers SNAP, TANF, SSI, Head Start, school meal programs, LIHEAP, Pell Grants and certain public housing and Medicaid programs.
All six offers are for new members only. Anyone with a membership in the past six months is out, renewals don’t count, and Walmart and Sam’s Club associates are excluded.
The offers page has one oddity. Its general FAQ says seniors qualify at 50, while the senior card and the senior answer both say 60, so plan on 60.
How to claim a group offer
- Open the membership offers page and pick your group.
- Verify with ID.me. Assistance programs need documents that show you take part.
- Join through the link ID.me gives you. The terms say joining any other way won’t get the price.
- Check the total before you pay, since the $20 is a pre-tax price.
Each ID.me page also carries a link to join as Plus instead, with its perks listed. None of the six pages shows a Plus price, though, so the $20 deal is a Club deal.
What recent public deals cost
When nobody qualifies for a group offer, timing matters. Sam’s Club has run a public deal more than once in the past year.

- The back-to-school 2026 offer priced Club at $25 a year through September 30, booked directly with Sam’s Club, Triangle on the Cheap reported.
- The fall 2025 offer priced Club at $15 or Plus at $50 through October 31, plus a free-trial Open House from October 17 to 19, according to Sam’s Club’s announcement. Club cost $50 at the time.
No fall 2026 offer was up when I checked the join page on October 17. If Sam’s Club repeats last year’s timing, it would land before Black Friday, and this page will list it when it does.
Referral links and renewal bonuses
Sam’s Club also runs a refer-a-friend program. Members get a personal link by email or text, and both sides can earn incentives once the new membership converts to a fully paid one.
The terms set the referrer’s incentives at $20 each, up to five, with a $20 minimum purchase for each one used. They work at a club register or in Scan & Go, not online or for Curbside Pickup.
Military members who already belong get something at renewal instead.

The $10 lands four to six weeks after renewal, and the membership has to stay active for 12 months afterward or the Sam’s Cash can be taken back.
The deal to skip
Skip the $55 add-on card if the person you’d add qualifies for a group offer and hasn’t held a membership in the past six months. A $20 Club membership of their own costs $35 less, by my math, and comes with its own free household card.
Stacking doesn’t work either. The renewal terms allow one offer per primary member, and the most recent offer applies when two overlap.
What happens after the first year
Every discounted membership renews at the full price in effect, which is $60 for Club and $120 for Plus today. Turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the renewal date if you don’t want the second year.
There’s a safety net too. Sam’s Club’s 100% Membership Satisfaction Guarantee refunds the current year’s fee if you cancel unhappy, though it excludes memberships bought through third parties.
