Sam’s Club Holiday Hours and the Four Days Clubs Close

Sam’s Club holiday hours follow a short, predictable list. Clubs close four days a year, on New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve is the only short day, ending at 6 p.m. Every other holiday on Sam’s Club’s list keeps the usual 8 p.m. close.

The four closed days are the same every year, and so is the early close on Christmas Eve. The full-hours holidays keep the normal schedule, early Plus hour included.

This season has one quirk worth planning around. Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on a Friday, so each closure turns the following Saturday into the first chance to shop.

Easter is the only closure that moves around. It fell on April 5 in 2026 and lands on March 28 in 2027, so check the date before a spring stock-up trip.

The Plus hour survives every open holiday. On Christmas Eve, Plus members still get in at 8 a.m., an hour before Club members, even though everyone heads out at 6 p.m.

Holidays that aren’t on the list

Sam’s Club’s holiday list leaves out most federal and family holidays, and it posts no closures or special hours for them. Expect the regular schedule, from 8 a.m. for Plus members and 9 a.m. for Club members until 8 p.m., on days like these.

  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents’ Day
  • Good Friday, the Friday before Easter
  • Mother’s Day and Father’s Day
  • Juneteenth, Columbus Day and Veterans Day
  • Halloween and Black Friday

Black Friday is the one that catches people out. Sam’s Club didn’t open early in 2025, and Today.com reported that clubs ran their normal hours that day.

Good Friday trips people up for a different reason. The club is open, but the next day it’s open is Saturday, because Easter Sunday follows.

Long weekends run full hours

The three-day weekends are the easy ones. Memorial Day weekend, May 29 to 31, 2027, and Labor Day weekend, September 4 to 6, 2027, run full hours all three days, since the Monday holiday keeps the 8 p.m. close.

The Fourth of July is the odd one in 2027. It falls on a Sunday, and the observed federal holiday on Monday, July 5, isn’t on Sam’s Club’s list, so both days run regular hours.

What changed in 2025

Sam’s Club laid out its holiday hours in an October 2025 announcement on Walmart’s corporate site. “Please note that club hours may vary on certain holidays,” it said, before listing the same closures and the 6 p.m. close on Christmas Eve.

The same announcement moved most clubs to one daily schedule on October 12, 2025, so Sundays stopped closing at 6 p.m. That matters for holidays that land on a Sunday. Easter stays closed, but the Fourth of July in 2027, a Sunday, runs a full day.

It also made Curbside Pickup free for every member with no minimum, which turns the day before a closure into a good day to order ahead.

Pharmacy, delivery and customer service

Departments close with the club on its closed days, but their hours can shift around a holiday. Sam’s Club’s pharmacy pages carry a “Holiday hours may vary” note, and at the clubs I checked the pharmacy already closes an hour before the club on weekdays.

Delivery runs every day except certain federal holidays, according to Sam’s Club’s delivery terms, so don’t count on a drop-off on a closed day. Order the day before instead, when slots run as late as 7 p.m.

Customer service keeps its own list. The contact center at 888-746-7726 answers from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Central every day and closes on Christmas, Easter and New Year’s Day. Thanksgiving isn’t on that list, so the phone line is the one Sam’s Club service you can reach that day.

Planning around a closed day

A closed day mostly means doing things a day early. Four habits cover it.

  1. Pick up the day before. Sam’s Club holds a Curbside Pickup order for up to 24 hours, but the hold can’t carry an order through a day the club is closed.
  2. Refill prescriptions early in the week, since the pharmacy’s holiday hours can differ from the club’s.
  3. Fill up the day before. Sam’s Club doesn’t post separate fuel hours for its closed days.
  4. Check your club’s page in the app, where a “Holiday hours may vary” note sits right under the regular hours.

The busiest stretch of the year gets its own plan. The Thanksgiving weekend schedule covers Wednesday pickups and Black Friday, and Sam’s Club’s everyday hours list the department times for the rest of the year.
