Sam’s Club Pharmacy Hours, Including Sundays and Holidays

Sam’s Club pharmacy hours at most clubs are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, with the pharmacy closed on Sunday.
That leaves the Sam’s Club pharmacy an hour short of the club’s 8 p.m. close on weekdays, two hours short on Saturday and a full day short on Sunday. A few pharmacies do open on Sunday, so check your club’s pharmacy page before a weekend refill.

Pharmacy hours next to club hours
| Day | Most pharmacies | The club |
|---|---|---|
| Monday to Friday | 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. | 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
| Saturday | 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. | 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
| Sunday | Closed | 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. |
I checked the pharmacy pages for 10 clubs in nine states, and nine of them listed exactly this schedule. They were Baltimore, Secaucus, Allentown, Gastonia, Savannah, Knoxville, Vernon Hills, Omaha and one of the San Antonio clubs.

The club itself opens at 9 a.m. for Club members and 8 a.m. for Plus members, every day of the week. The club’s full schedule covers the other departments, which keep their own hours too.
The pharmacy pages also list Plus early hours of 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., Monday to Saturday. The pharmacy hours themselves start at 9 a.m., though, so call before you count on an 8 a.m. pickup.
Some pharmacies open on Sunday
The exception in my check was the Sam’s Club Pharmacy on SW Loop 410 in San Antonio, club #999. It opens from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

So a Sunday pharmacy does exist, it’s just rare. Each club’s pharmacy page shows its own hours and a line such as “Opens Sunday 10am” at the top, which is the quickest way to find out before you drive over.
Holiday hours
Every pharmacy page I checked carries the same warning, “Holiday hours may vary,” and none of them lists the holiday times. The pharmacy closes on the four days the whole club closes, which are New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Plan refills around them. Over Thanksgiving weekend, the pharmacy is closed on Thursday and, at most clubs, on Sunday too, which leaves Wednesday, Friday and Saturday for pickups.
Christmas week needs the same planning. On Christmas Eve, the whole club closes at 6 p.m., an hour before a pharmacy’s usual weekday close.
You don’t need a membership
Sam’s Club’s pharmacy help page says a membership is not required to use the in-club pharmacy. Anyone can drop off or transfer a prescription to one of its 576 pharmacies.
The catch is online. Managing prescriptions through Sam’s Club’s digital pharmacy requires an active membership tied to your online account.
Services at the pharmacy counter
The pharmacy pages list five services. You can order prescriptions online and pick them up, get vaccines any time the pharmacy is open, ask for curbside pickup, set up same-day delivery and fill pet medications.

Vaccines follow the pharmacy’s hours, so a Saturday flu shot has to happen before 6 p.m. Sam’s Club notes that some vaccines are a $0 copay with insurance.
Same-day prescription delivery
Every Sam’s Club pharmacy in the U.S. offers same-day prescription delivery, except in Puerto Rico. You enroll in text alerts at the counter, then schedule the delivery from the link in the “order ready” text. No samsclub.com account is needed.

According to the delivery FAQ, requests are due by 2 p.m. on weekdays and by noon on Saturday, or 9 a.m. on Saturday in California. Weekday deliveries arrive in one of three windows between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Saturday has two.
There are no Sunday windows, which makes Saturday’s noon cutoff the one to watch. By my reading of the schedule, a request that misses it waits until Monday.
The fee shows up when you schedule, and insurance won’t cover it. Controlled substances, compounded drugs, over-the-counter items and prescriptions paid by Medicaid or Medicare Part B can’t be delivered.
What Plus members pay for prescriptions
Plus members get a 30-day supply of more than 600 generic drugs for $10 or less, and 10 select generics for $0. The Plus pharmacy FAQ lists the free ones as amlodipine, donepezil, escitalopram, finasteride, lisinopril, metformin, montelukast, pioglitazone, sertraline and vitamin D2 50,000 IU.
- The prices can’t be combined with insurance, a government program or a coupon card.
- Controlled substances don’t qualify, and higher dosages may cost more.
- In Arizona, California and Minnesota, the free drugs cost $2 for a 30-day supply.
- You have to show your Plus card at the pharmacy once to switch the pricing on.
By my math, the $60 step up from Club to Plus at $120 a year works out to $5 a month. If you now pay more than $5 a month for one of those 10 drugs, the free price alone covers the upgrade, before any other Plus benefit.
Ask the pharmacist to price a prescription both ways. Sam’s Club says its pharmacy team will compare the Plus price with your insurance price so you can pick the cheaper one.
